7-Zip - FREE file archiver/zip with high compression ratio

I used to remember using WinZip back in Windows 95 era. It was like a god-sent product. During that time, size really matters. Floppy disk still reign, and those who have CD-ROM drives are my idol.

So, back then, we normally transfer files using floppy disk. Tell you the truth, it always ain't a easy task to copy files into floppy disk, especially pictures. So, we would happily uses WinZip program to zip those big files up. Imagine you can reduce the size of the files into maybe half of the original size. It was like magic back then.

Well, things change a lot ever since. Nowadays, we only uses this tool to unzip after downloading certain zip file from Internet. And frankly to pay USD$29.95 for such program is quite pricey. So I had found an alternative to WinZip: introducing 7-zip.
