Spreadtrum Introduces World Cheapest Android Smartphone at US$40 - US$50 (MYR$130 - MYR$160)
Spreadtrum Communications, Inc, had on yesterday announces the commercial availability of world's cheapest Android Smartphone, possibility produced at US$40 (MYR$130) - US$50. Two low-cost Android smartphone were introduced ; SC8805G for TD-SCDMA and the SC6810 for EDGE/WiFi.
Specification for both SC8805G and the SC6810:
- ARM-9 600MHz processor,
- Android 2.2 version
- 2D graphics, MPEG4 decoder and encoder
- 5MP camera
- HVGA touch screen LCD
- WiFi, GPS, Bluetooth, FM and mobile TV.
"Both models - SC8805G and SC6810 - shall mark Spreadtrum's entry into the smartphone category," said Dr. Leo Li, Spreadtrum's president and chief executive officer.
