Google Chrome - Why I choose this Internet browser (and never look back)

I had started using Google Chrome since it was introduced in 2008, and had never bother to change to another Internet browser ever since. Google had been attentive to Internet user's need, and most of Google's product that I used, I had used them since their inception until now. I had used Google as search engine since 1999.

Why I started with Google Chrome?

I was looking for a fast and reliable browser ever since my Mozilla Firefox became bloated and slow. I had abandon Microsoft Internet Explorer prior to this because it was buggy and insecure. Firefox was very functional with those add-ons, but it runs too slow on my old PC. I downloaded Chrome to try out, and it was a breeze using it.

I like a lot of features that comes with the Google Chrome:
  1. It warns me when I am entering a site which might contains malicious virus - which is very important because the last thing I want is to format my PC.

  2. It was one of the first to implement "Most Visited" page --- Google Chrome have the option to track and list your 8-most visited sites whenever you launch it or open a new tab. Really useful. But be careful, if you always visit porn sites, you might not wish this feature running when your mum is behind you!

  3. It has tabs, and it allows you to easily duplicate your current tab. And, if you closes a Google Chrome with multiple pages (maybe you plan to switch off your PC), the next time you run Google Chrome again, you can choose to open back those pages with a click -- it is right below Google Chrome's startup page, under "Recently closed" section which listed "5 tabs" if you had closed your Chrome with 5 pages open before this.

  4. It is light and snappy to use!

  5. The interface is maximise for Internet browsing experience - you don't get cluttered buttons, page titles, status bar etc - very good for netbooks with small 10.1" LCD display.

  6. Incognito window - this mode allows you to browse website without leaving history or information on the PC you are using. So, if you are using public PC, it is good to use this mode when browsing as you don't need to worry leaving sensitive datas if you forgot to logout or any history browsing (but it doesn't affect the behaviour of other people, servers or software; e.g. malicious software that track your keystrokes etc). So you don't need to worry about browsing porn sites... hahaha...

  7. It will automatically prompts an option for you to translate the page easily to any language you want if it founds out that the page you are viewing is not in English or in the language you frequently use. That was a very nice thought of Google Chrome team!

  8. While you read a webpage and comes across a word or phrase (e.g. "curry chicken recipe") that you want to search further for information, just simply highlight the words, right-click the highlighted selection and select "Search Google for 'curry chicken recipe' ". It will automatically pop up a new tab with relevant Google search result for "curry chicken recipe". Isn't it convenient?
So, give it a try if you find the above options are of important to you. So far, most of sites I visit are appearing correctly in Google Chrome (this was the worry most Ms Internet Explorer users when they are switching).

Happy trying!
